FHIDO has secured a one-year pilot project funded by ChildFund Korea titled “I leader Project” with a total budget of 3,894,622.55 birr. The project is going to be implemented in 5 woredas (woreda 1, 2, 4, 5,9) in Arada sub city where selected 5 secondary schools are located. The main goal of the project is to contribute to the government’s effort of producing educated and productive generation in Ethiopia. The specific objectives of the projects are to create resilient and empowered adolescents in Arada sub city through provision of educational support by the end of July 2022; to increase access to basic social, emotional, health services for 500 school children found in Arada sub city by the end of July 2022.
In the project, 500 academically outstanding secondary school students, who will become role model for other students, will be selected and provided through comprehensive educational materials to enable them to perform good academic results and increase their transitions to tertiary levels. Moreover, different psychosocial, emotional and health related supports will be extended to make them healthy and empowered citizen.
